description As we enter the digital era, there will be both challenges and opportunities with regards to project management in the Civil Engineering field. The use of Building Information Modeling (BIM) technology is increasingly significant across the industry, bringing about a second revolutionary change in the field after the introduction of Computer Aided Design (CAD). BIM is used for creating and managing data during the design, construction, and operations processes. BIM integrates multi-disciplinary data to create detailed digital representations that are managed in an open cloud platform for real-time collaboration. BIM not only allows design and construction teams to work more efficiently, but it also allows them to capture live data during the processes to benefit operations and maintenance activities. Whereas on the other hand, Primavera P6 is already a mature digital technology in terms of portfolio and resource management. It has a multi-user system with detailed permission structures and real time reporting systems, allowing all users to receive ground data and make informed decisions on the project.
