description | Research surrounding parenthood and the domestic sphere have typically centred around women and the burdens that women have been expected to carry. While corresponding research on men, their contributions and their motivations in the domestic sphere are a burgeoning field of research, there is minimal insight into the views of younger men, who are prospective fathers, whose present views will likely inform their future actions and decisions as fathers and husbands. This study thus aims to provide a comparative understanding of differences between the perceptions and viewpoints of prospective fathers and actual fathers, to map out and identify factors that change viewpoints between these two stages of life. |
