| Summary: | 新加坡爱国歌曲是政府用来塑造国家意识与认同的渠道之一，以达到增强国人团结意识与归属感的目的。自1984年，政府官方在每年的国庆都创造出新的爱国歌曲，并以其中的歌词和音乐视频提出对国人爱国主义表现的诉求。随着21 世纪所带来的社会转型与科技发展，民间根据官方爱国歌曲所创作的滑稽模仿和翻唱版本爱国歌曲逐渐兴起，使国人开始质疑多元化版本爱国歌曲创作的必要。因此，本文将以2000年后的三种不同版本爱国歌曲——政府官方、民间滑稽模仿和翻唱版本为研究对象，通过文本分析的方式来揭示它们其中所再现的爱国主义表现，及其所存在的差异。Since its launch in the 1980s, Singapore National Day Parade (NDP) songs have been utilized as a means of instilling national consciousness and identity, aimed at fostering a sense of unity and belongingness among its people. Through the manipulation of lyrics and music videos in NDP songs, government officials have consistently emphasised their ideals regarding what expressions of patriotism should entail. Singapore’s social transformation in the 21st century, coupled with technological advancements, has inevitably led to an apparent trend where citizens create parodies and covers inspired by official NDP songs. This phenomenon thus raises questions pertaining to the relevance of different NDP songs in today’s context, especially so given their widespread presence on social media today. As such, this paper aims to explore various versions of post-2000 NDP songs, inclusive of the official version published yearly by government officials, as well as the NDP song parodies and covers created by citizens, through the use of text analysis. This paper will focus on highlighting and comparing the role that each version of NDP song plays in providing citizens with a platform through which they can express their acts of patriotism.
