The term “bullying” often carries a heavy connotation, with the pain it inflicts being closely linked to our senses. People's perceptions and experiences in life can shape their value judgements. Text and Image Studies are based on the relationship between vision and cognition, constituting a process of “seeing the world” and “understanding the world”. This paper will analyse the impact of bullying-themed movies and television (TV) shows through the lens of Text and Image Studies. Using “Better Days”, “Cry Me a Sad River” and “The Glory” as primary works, the analysis examines how the portrayal of characters, backgrounds, and the harm caused by bullying shape typical plots, placing the victim in a position of vulnerability. Secondly, it analyses how techniques used in film and TV create a sense of oppression associated with bullying. Finally, it examines the influence of these works after they have been broadcasted, reflecting the impact of the shock they deliver to the audience.
