| Summary: | On 21 August 2022, the repeal of the law 377A was announced at the National Day Rally. The law, which criminalises sex between two men whether in public or private, has been around since 1938. Queer people in Singapore have been fighting for this repeal since 2007, when they brought the first challenge against the law to the courts. When the repeal was announced, many queer people and allies celebrated, but there was still pushback from the public.
A year after the repeal, has anything changed?
This photojournalism project aims to examine the different issues that the queer community in Singapore faces to see if things have changed in the year since the repeal happened.
