Description
Summary:This research report investigates the various aspects of Iron Loss in Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motors (PMSMs), focusing on Modelling and Analysing Iron Loss calculations through a Finite Element Analysis (FEA) software called JMAG Designer. Through this software’s validation and experimental simulations, the proposed model shows accuracy across diverse operating conditions, under Fundamental Sinusoidal Current and under PWN Excitation, presenting Harmonic Currents. This research provides valuable insights into PMSM-specific Iron Loss phenomena, offering a practical framework for predicting and mitigating Iron Losses by varying relevant parameters of the PMSM. The implications also extend to enhanced efficiency of the PMSM, being another crucial factor to optimizing the PMSM.
