Description
Summary:With the increase in human population as well as traffic road usage across the globe, land scarcity, especially in the context of Singapore, has become a major issue that cannot be overlooked. Technology is also constantly improving, becoming more efficient and effective in our everyday lives. While it may be the easiest to buy specialised equipment in bulk for certain purposes, it is crucial to explore how feasible it is to implement low-cost methods in analysing traffic road parameters using current technologies. In this project, we study how processing tools can be implemented to extract useful parameters from video footage captured through a phone. The aim of this report is to show how these processing algorithms can be used to retrieve useful information and aid in developing Singapore’s Intelligent Transport System (ITS). These algorithms will be implemented in Python for this project.
