Summary: | With the non-stop increasing aging population in Singapore, the potential of elderly
falling increases, leading to more serious consequences due to the frail frames of these
elderly. This project is geared towards building a smart living system centered around
the Bluetooth architecture to provide real time monitoring of possible falls in the
elderly and alert caregivers. Utilizing advances in IOT and Bluetooth Mesh
technology, was aimed to provide a cost effective, low-powered, maintenance free
interface and secure architecture that can be easily deployed. The Nordic Thingy:52
MCU, attached with external pressure sensors pads was selected to work in tandem
with the Raspberry Pi 4 that served as the server and Mesh provisioning tool linking
up the numerous Thingy: 52s and processing the data collected.
