description Ultra wideband (UWB) communication is a radio technology that required low energy levels for short range communication.UWB communications transmit in a way that does not interfere with other narrow band and continuous carrier wave that uses that same frequency band. The report will provide a detail analysis on how to design a low noise amplifier for the UWB receiver. The signal transmitted is amplify to larger amplitude in order of detection in the other stages of the receiver system. Low noise amplifier (LNA) is used in communication systems to amplify the weak signals captured by the receiver antenna. It is mainly located at the first stage of the receiver block diagram. The first stage normally require to have low noise figure and high gain. Thus LNA will be the main part of the system that will affect the overall noise figure. In overall the UWB low noise amplifier has to be implemented and simulated by Cadence using TSMC 0.18um CMOS technology. This report will give a detailed description of the UWB low noise amplifier design, recommendations and ideas.
