This research aims to discern the critical success factors in DC program management, focusing on adopting risk response strategies to effectively address the dynamic business changes. Additionally, the study seeks to identify approaches to align business strategies with program management practices. A literature review was conducted to identify the success factors for managing programs in general fields and the IT sector, which shares common business demands with DCs, as no prior studies have specifically addressed the best approaches for managing DC programs amid changing business needs. Semi-structured interviews were then conducted with subject-matter experts of the studied DC to gain in-depth insights into the success factors in managing DC programs. Finally, the findings from both the literature review and the interviews were organized into questionnaire survey questions, which respondents rated for relevance on a Likert scale.
This dissertation identifies key success factors for managing DC programs, including fostering a safe and healthy culture, comprehensive change assessment, strong justification and cost analysis for change, prioritization of implementation plans, and leadership support. It combines these factors with approaches to align business needs with program management, offering a framework to help DC business owners navigate dynamic environments and effectively manage their DC programs. |
