| Summary: | In February 2024, there was a popular Chinese drama titled, Amidst a Snowstorm of Love, based on Mo Bao Fei Bao’s fiction. The second storyline of the fiction is about Xiaodong and Lin Lin, but the author doesn’t describe it in detail, just a brief overview from the protagonist’s point of view. What’s more, you can’t find out more about them on the Internet or in other books. So I decided to write a story based on Xiaodong and Lin Lin.
The story is about the main character Xiaodong, a talented snooker player who was born into a family of snooker players and grew up under the strict supervision and control of his parents. He is sensitive, desires love but is controlling, which eventually leads to a break-up with his girlfriend Lin Lin. He is a sincere friend, and for over a decade, has done everything in his power to help his best friend Yiyang return to his snooker career. He takes good care of his family, encouraging his younger sister Yin Guo to train in nine-ball while helping gain family support for her relationship. All of this shows that underneath his cold exterior, he has a warm heart.
In total, I devoted six chapters to Xiaodong’s story, exploring his family, love, friendship, personal growth in his snooker career, and competition in the Olympics with his best friend. There is also an extra chapter that functions like an epilogue or appendix. This is a technique employed in certain Chinese dramas. Here, the views of Xiaodong are expressed from the perspectives of Lin Lin, Yiyang and Yin Guo. This makes the character of Xiaodong more three-dimensional
