Description
Summary:Virtual Reality (VR) in the video game industry have been continuously growing in recent years and is projected to grow even more. Virtual Reality gaming provides an increased level of immersion compared to traditional gaming. In this project, the Virtual Reality (VR) game titled Arcana Gauntlet, an action game where the player wield magical spells to defeat enemies is developed. The game aims to create an immersive and enjoyable experience for players through hand-gesture based controls. It utilizes hand tracking provided by Meta’s Hand Tracking 2.1 system to allow players to cast elemental spells using intuitive hand gesture and hand motions, providing an enhanced sense of realism within a fantasy world. The game is developed and tested on the Meta Quest 2 headset using the Unity Game Engine. This report details the design of the game, game mechanics, implementation of hand gesture detection system, and the use of Unity’s XR toolkit for VR development.
