Summary: | Geoid, the equipotential surface of the earth's gravity field is the surface used as height datum by the surveying and civil engineering communities. With the introduction of Global Positioning System (GPS), it is possible to obtain accurate height differences using this technology and thus it can be used to determine geoid models based on the World Geodetic System 1984 (WGS84). There are a few methods in determining the geoid undulation. Generally, they are divided into two major groups, namely the geometric and gravimetric techniques.
