Summary: | It is widely accepted that future digital library applications have to be built upon
different kinds of database servers to draw from them different forms of data. These
data include bibliographic data, text data, multimedia data as well as structured
data. In this research, we address the problem of integrating existing bibliographic
and relational databases which reside at different locations in the network. Although
bibliographic data is semi-structured, it differs from general semi-structured data
by often having an attribute set determined by an international standard known as
MARC. |
