Summary:The research project to set up the GINTICs Experimental Printed Circuit Board Assembly Facility provides a testbed to apply a Computer Aided Design framework into the facility level of the Computer Integrated Manufacturing functional structure. It consists of heterogeneous UNIX based workstations and a variety of software tools that need to be integrated together by a CAD framework to facilitate a concurrent engineering environment. Many projects have been proposed to address the overall integration issues related to GINTICs EPCBAF.
