description Digital Audio Broadcasting (DAB) plays an increasingly central role in development of modern telecommunication and can provide a wide range of multimedia applications by supplying image, video and text transmission. However, the received signals sometime are distorted, incomplete and noisy due to bad environment or weak signal strength. Hence signal quality testing is necessary before it display to receivers. The aim of this project is to build a DAB transmit ¨C receive testbed and also provide the quality measurements on received images. The theories reviewed in chapter 2 consist of DAB transmission, receiving, multimedia service, and image compression, noise model, quality measurement. The development path and results for both DAB testbed application and Image quality measurements are discussed in chapter 3 and 4. The last chapter states the conclusion and further improvement of this project.
