| Summary: | In this thesis, two types of optically pumped ZnO UV random lasers: i) nano-composite random lasers containing metal-oxide nano-powders and ii) ZnO disordered film based waveguide lasers were designed, fabricated and tested to tackle the problems of in-directionality and multimodes operation.
