description This study aims to elicit Singaporean and Singapore‟s permanent resident‟s willingness to pay (WTP) for an Air Deterioration Prevention Program (ADPP), using a Contingent Valuation Method (CVM). Pollutants Standard Index1 (PSI) is commonly used to assess air quality in Singapore. In this study, PSI of 45 is selected as a target for ADPP. 212 respondents are randomly selected to value the provision of the ADPP. The ADDP can be viewed as a public or a private good; the former involves attaining the target in both indoor and outdoor air quality while the latter focuses solely indoor air quality. Among the survey distributed, half of the respondents were asked on how much they are willing to pay to prevent air deterioration as a public good and subsequently as a private good and the other half were being asked in the reverse order.
