Eddie, Ng Yin Kwee School of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering DRNTU::Engineering::Bioengineering 112 p. An example of homeostasis is temperature regulation. This physiological process leads to the preservation of a stable biological environment. The body and central nervous system have thermosensitive neurons that have thermosensitive receptors. The afferent input from these neurons is processed in the brain's "thermoregulatory centre" located in the pre-optic area of the anterior hypothalamus (PO/AH), where efferent responses activates sweating, shivering and changes in vasomotor to maintain normal body temperature.
