Opis
Sažetak:The Golden Section is a timeless system of Nature that has fascinated and influenced many generations of artists, architects, mathematicians and scientists. This paper researches the manifestation of this ubiquitous system in many of Nature’s creations, in particular, plants, then rationalises and translates these systems into mathematical terms. The oeuvres of three well-known designers who incorporated the theory of the Golden Section into their works, namely Le Corbusier, A.M. Cassandre and Josef Muller Brockmann, were analysed in detail and provided a deeper level of understanding in the creation of visual structure and coherence in design. The study of these works also served as a valuable source of inspiration as to how the primary research could be translated into design terms.
