description Globalisation has been an increasing trend that affects the organisation’s operations. They have to do global sourcing in order to reduce costs by reaching out to countries that are rich in raw materials, productions or even distribution factors. In order to maintain competitive advantages in the market, organisation streamlined their operation by outsourcing their non-core activities and focuses on their core competence, reducing costs while maintaining high service level to survive. Supply chain has become an important factor to be discussed in the project. The cost of spending in major supply chain drivers, such as inventory, transportation, facility and information driver can be a tremendous amount and is by no means a small component. With the more intensive challenges that distribution network faced, there is a need to consider the tactics to overcome the challenges faced by globalised company, which will be the focus of this project. Relationship between major drivers will be discussed as well. Empirical evidence collected through interviews provides insights into the severity of each challenges faced by different supply chain members. This project has used simulation experiment to test how the tactics could have reflect on replenishment cycle service level and average on-hand inventory level that will contribute to the success of a company. Recommendations to improve the simulation experiment are highlighted in the last part of this project.
