Description
Summary:Water is the essence of life for every living being lives in this earth. As a whole there is no more or no less water in the earth today than a million years ago, the challenges that we are facing today especially in the Sub-Saharan countries is where and how the water is located, distributed and potable. However even within the same regional level of Sub-Saharan country we can’t expect the very same strategy would give the same result without considering the quantifying factors that would likely differs the expected outcome. The proposed water treatment concept must be highly contextualized and innovative towards the approach according to the scenario available. In this project we would like to design a practical solution of water purification system by adapting preexisting technology such as solar disinfection (SODIS) to purify water for the people who live quite distant from the water sources within rural housing context. The expected outcome of this project will be identifying the possibility of using distance as a medium of implementing available filtration methodology into a single concept of transporting and cleaning the water at the same time.
