Description
Summary:This research project constitutes a multidisciplinary research agenda in the realms of computational media that harnesses the synergy among computer scientists, sports pundits, geographers, community leaders and mathematical theorists in devising an i3DM platform to address complex, dynamic information sharing. The internet plays a vital role in increasing social cohesion. This research project scrutinizes and explores the capacity of information and communication technology for forging greater intra community ties in Singapore. The research project is directed at two primary community-domains. It seek to provide a geo-spatial informative platform for residents (especially the underprivileged and lower income families); and engaging cyber citizens in the 1st Asian Youth Games/Youth Olympic Games 2010 by using the novelty of intelligent, customizable, self learning agents. i3DM combines the neural network architecture (TD-FALCON) with geographical information based services in both mobile and web platforms as well as with .NET web development technologies. By incorporating real time data, the research banks on user friendliness, practicality and innovation. Through multidisciplinary knowledge collaboration, this research seeks to fuse qualitative and quantitative data to connect humans, events and environments to form historical narratives within and across geographic spaces. The research goal is to effectively infuse computational thinking into the new-media community outreach platform through media innovation and narrative knowledge creation in paradigm alignment of Geographically-Integrated information sharing.
