description Modern robotic research has been working on the field of biomimetic robots. By doing so, we hope to harness the superior designs for various systems and apply them in engineering fields. There are many animals which biomimetic robots can be modeled upon. With the widespread availability of relatively powerful computers than before, simulation provides a viable and economic choice for roboticist to design and experiment with robots before proceeding to build a prototype. This report will detail the study of several animal candidates and analyze them to determine their strengths and weaknesses.
