Description
Summary:The study aimed to investigate the effect of suction heating on a compressor performance during the compression process. To aid the study, models of the compressor such as thermodynamic, friction, heat transfer, leakage, valve reed and geometrical models were reviewed. A computer model to simulate the overall performance of a rolling piston compressor has been developed. The mathematical model was reviewed to predict the effect of the heat transfer between the discharge to the suction flow. Suction pressure, discharge pressure and speed (rpm) were used to quantify the performance of the compressor. The model is found to be sensitive to operational speed, motor friction and fraction of power which sources to increase in suction heating.
