description | The technology of organic electronics has been rapidly grown and printed electronics are usually in compliment with this technology. The need for testing and characterization of printed organic electronics is becoming increasingly important in this growing sector.
For this project, printing methods of electronics like inkjet and mass-printing were studied. The model used is based on an a-silicon approach which allows modeling of most printed polymer transistors and circuits. Characterization and extraction of parameters of the model will be elaborated. Circuit simulations will be done for organic thin film transistors (TFTs), and designing of analog circuits like an inverter, ring oscillator and common source amplifier based on the model given. In this project, AIM-Spice was used to perform simulations and analysis of those simulations was done. P-type transistors were used for the circuits and simulations showed that most circuits provide a gain of more than 1. Future work could include the improvement of the mobility and bandwidth of the circuits. |
