description | In Authorship and Film, Janet Staiger said, “authorship is always a way of looking at films” (28). Film is a medium that necessitates the effort of a whole team to produce. The process of singling out an individual to be the author of the film has always been evolving, and there are different ways to identify an author. This analysis will help us better understand the relational factors between authorship and films. Then, I will be examining on how different manifestations of authorship theories can be put into perspective of the Singapore film industry. With that, I argue that Singapore film authors are created through different cultural and social occurrences. |
