description Studies have shown that the majority of public library users are teenagers, and these teens come most often to the library in search of materials for their class projects and assignments. In this sense, the public library has always been seen as providing a supporting role to the curriculum needs of this group of young library users. This dissertation involves the study of Young People's English non-fiction book collection from two approaches -collection-centered and user-centered. The main objective of the study is to assess the quality and extent of the Young People's English non-fiction book collections at the Tampines Regional Library. This study attempts to shed some light on how well the collection measures up to what experts think is best, the perceptions of the quality and extent of the collection by library users, and the possible problems encountered by users in locating their desired materials in the online catalog and on the shelves. Two main methods were employed in conducting the research, namely, bibliographic checklist and survey questionnaire.
