Summary:Factors affecting the growth of global telecommunications industry are not only technological, but economic, societal, competitive and regulatory. Within the last five years, one could see the changing landscape of telecommunications industry, such as the phenomenal growth in Internet and Multimedia terminals, the popularity of computer communications and the convergence of telecommunications and broadcasting. There is expected to be dramatic growth in the telecommunications business and thus the need to deal with changes before they actually occur. A proactive approach is becoming increasingly important in order to establish a competitive edge for telecommunications companies.
