description The purpose of this dissertation is to find ways to prevent and handle construction contract claims in the International environment. In order to restrict the scope of the study to a manageable proportion, this study focuses on the methods of resolving disputes and a few case studies pertaining to them. Various methods of resolving disputes as alternatives to litigation are described. Also some study reports involving Arbitration and Mediation in Singapore are included. From the results of case study reports, one could conclude that the settlement outside courts through a mediator or Dispute Review Board would save both parties a lot of legal expenses and time in resolving their disputes.
