An outline of this story recorded in historical documents will be provided. How the dramatic works of later periods modified the plots of this story based on the brief historical accounts will also be discussed. The drama was so popular that its influence has spread to the West. This thesis also examines the changes in focus and narration of this historical incident over time, and also scrutinized views presented by different historians, playwrights throughout history. |
