Description
Summary:High rise buildings have appeared since antiquity. This construction ideology of buildings is used to optimize land space especially in areas where land scarcity is a problem. Therefore Singapore has adopted this strategy for most of her land project development. These buildings have indeed reduced the impacts of land shortage. However, it creates a worry that rise concern in many. Incidents of people falling off the building have become a method of death in this modern century. These falling incidents may be due to negligence of safety by an individual, suicide or foul play (pushing someone deliberately or accidentally). During most of the times, investigations of these incidents are judged based on witnesses at crime scene. The difficulty comes in when there is no witness. Hence this project aims to aid investigation through the law of physics behind the falling person. In this project, further improvements and validation have been done on an application that is created by a previous final year project student. The major edition is the inclusion of calculation with air resistance. This application can be used by authorities as a guide to identify the falling height and possible cause of death in such incidents.
