description This research project is the study and analysis of the market outlook for Aframax vessels in the next five years, with the aim of justifying future investments in the ship-owner‟s perspective. The paper will take a macro-micro approach with the paper segmented into three sections. The first phase initiates with a literary approach where research papers are cross-referenced for an introductory discussion on the elements of the Aframax market, related legislation and revenue yield, within the scope of a ship-operator plying the ocean trade of crude oil. Thereafter, the paper will narrow down to undertake a market exploration approach in the Indo-Pacific Region where a current market analysis will encompass: major players in the export and import of crude oil, current supply of proven reserves, investments made into crude oil and how the factors interact to affect the demand and supply of crude oil.
