Every sport has a potential for this type of injury. Hence rehabilitation of sports injuries is needed. In general, the goals of rehabilitation include restoring function, restoring pain-free full range of motion, and achieving full muscle strength, sports endurance and aerobic fitness. Electrical stimulation has been in practice since the eighteen century for the treatment of paralysed patients and the prevention and restoration of muscle function after injuries, before patients are capable of voluntary exercise training. In this study, the author is investigating the effectiveness of electrical stimulation on healthy subjects and subjects who have suffered from musculoskeletal injuries. An electrical stimulation program was designed and carried out for healthy subjects (Group S) and subjects with musculoskeletal injuries (Group SI) over duration of 3 times a week for 5 weeks. Subjects in both groups used electrical stimulation to contract the hamstring, quadriceps, abdominal and biceps muscles. In order to test the effectiveness of electrical stimulation, pre and post assessment measurement on cardiovascular endurance, muscular strength, muscular endurance and range of motion was carried out.
