Summary:Many biological creatures have benefited from the use of capillary force as a form of adhesion. In this project, the aim is to design and test a 40 mm by 40 mm adhesion device (known as Bi-layer Capillary Adhesion Device (BCAD)), which makes use of capillary force of clean water to achieve adhesion. The investigation would be on the effects of the 3 types of BCAD design variants and substrate surfaces on the device’s adhesive strength and duration of hold.
