description This report included a historical study of tiltrotor/tiltwing developments and reviewed current developments in morphing aircrafts and V/STOL aircrafts. In order to provide a platform for researches and test-bedding of different technologies, a prototype was designed with low cost and ease of manufacturing in mind. Detailed fabrications processes were planned and a prototype unmanned aerial vehicle was built to study the feasibility of combining the versatility of convertibles and morphing mechanisms. In addition, experiments and theoretical studies were done on rotor/propellers because of their essential roles in making a functional convertible aircraft. At the end of the project, the prototype was tested on a testing rig to study its dynamic responses and ability to hover.
