Description
Summary:The purpose of this project was to replace the existing Database Management System (DBMS) by coming up with a new DBMS that suits the new needs and requirements of the staff and counsellors at CCCC (Care Corner Counselling Centre). In this project, we followed the Software Process to guide us through the development of our new DBMS System. The Software Process Model we adopted would be the Incremental Model, with each increment / part following the Waterfall Model. The system was built using Microsoft SQL Server 2008 Express for the back-end database, Visual C and Visual Basic for the front-end GUI. Upon completion, the new DBMS will prove to be a better system as it is more user-friendly as well as more suited to the needs of today’s counsellors. Report generation part of our new DBMS is also more efficient, with the capability of giving more accurate and automated results. The success of the system depends largely upon feedback from CCCC clients, as with their feedback, we can constantly make changes and improve on the system. Our aim is to provide a system built within budget that can meet even the most detailed needs of our clients, and one which is also time-saving, reliable and able to generate accurate results.
