Summary:In this report, a self-healing polymer material is investigated and demonstrated. This material is fabricated using ethylene vinyl acetate mixed together with hot melt adhesive, also known as melt glue. It is found that this material is strong in structure yet has a bit of elastic property due to the presence of melt glue. The procedure from designing mould, dog bone shape, and experimental tools, testing rigs adapters, are also presented in this report. Different content samples are fabricated and characterized including self-healing tests and fracture tensile tests. Finally some of the factors affecting self-healing process during the experiments are presented which will benefit any future works.
