description The CRL-CUSUM chart is the most efficient control chart for attribute quality control. This chart integrates the advanced features of the run length chart and the CUSUM chart. It is able to significantly improve the effectiveness of the attribute quality control. This project will develop a simulation program to design the CRL-CUSUM chart under different design specifications, and also compare its performance with that of other traditional control charts - CRL chart, np chart and Poisson-CUSUM chart. It is shown that a CRL-CUSUM chart responds the fastest in terms of the average time to detection as compared to the other three charts. By responding promptly to out-of-control signal, factory can reduce or prevent producing unwanted non-conforming units under an out-of-control condition, which in turn saves cost and material.
