description As a typical cogeneration plant, SembCorp Industries Ltd. Cogeneration Plant (Cogen Plant) supplies electricity to local power grid by natural gas combustion and produces steam by harnessing the exhaust heat of the gas turbine. For Cogen Plant, maintenance work is very important in sense of ensuring the reliability of the running plant and quickly recovering the plant from breakdown. Being a routine-work based rather than project-based attachment, the primary aim of the 22-week industrial attachment at Cogen Plant maintenance department is to gain maintenance knowledge and skills through studying the plant manuals and assisting daily routine work at the plant site. This report mainly covers the investigation into heat recovery steam generator, electricity generator, excitation system, protection system and the electrical network both in literature review and review of site work.
