This project is a comprehensive introduction to Text-To-Speech (TTS) synthesis of a particular language using phonemes of another language. The project uses Hidden Markov Model based speech synthesis. The concatenative approach of speech synthesis is used and it is corpus-based. Basic concepts of HMM and different types of HMM have been explained in the thesis. The HMM based speech synthesis system is used. Each of the components of the system has been explained in the thesis.
