Description
Summary:In our daily lives, we see and make use of elastomeric materials and there are many different elastomers used for different applications. Many studies have been done by researchers over the world to improve the properties of such elastomers and one such way was to reinforce them with fillers. In the recent decades, much attention was put on nanotechnology and scientists see huge potential in reinforcing elastomers with nanofillers. As such, exhaustive studies have been done to investigate the properties of thermoplastic elastomers (TPS) like polyurethane, but there is little focus on thermosetting elastomers (TSE). In this report, the effect of addition of multi-walled carbon nanotubes into TSE will be investigated, and the enhancements in thermal and mechanical properties of such CNTs reinforced TSE will be discussed in detail.
