Summary:As new technology is developed and advanced constantly, many people have been relying on technology to help accomplished their daily routines, be it for personal or work purposes. Advances in sophisticated medical technology are also constantly being made. With the introduction of the concept of Electronic Medical Record (EMR), healthcare industry are moving towards implementing EMR systems so as to integrate clinical practices and enhanced patient care and safety. Aiming towards the EMR, this project goes through the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) to design and develop the Outpatient Information System (OPIS). OPIS is a web application for clinicians to access a complete patient health information at the point of diagnosis. This helps clinicians make better decisions and thus, increases clinician efficiency which is a key to a successful EMR implementation.
