description Mobile phones have the capability to display images and videos. However, viewing a video on a mobile sometimes is not enjoyable because of its small screen. The question we ask in this project is how to make user experience of viewing video on mobile phone more comfortable. There are two approaches to this problem: One approach is to magnify parts of the video which are “interesting” to the user. The saliency map of all video frames is needed to determine where to put the magnifying glass and how big the radius should be. The other approach is to use video retargeting. Instead of determining interested regions, this method removes the least important information in every video frame until the desired frame width and height is achieved. We will implement both ways to see its effect on videos.
