description Recent years have seen a rise in websites, gadgets and applications that have greatly exploited the use of the internet. More people are relying on the internet to keep in touch with family, friends and colleagues by uploading texts and images on personal pages or social sites. Even mobile phones nowadays are packed with applications that allow the user to snap a picture and upload it to the web instantly. This convenience has brought an explosive growth of images on the web. There is an increasing need for effective storage and retrieval of relevant images without the hassle of manually tagging each image individually. I thereby propose AutoTag, an automatic annotation system that facilitates the assigning of keywords or categories to a given image.
