Description
Summary:Flat slab structures are widespread all over the world and it is commonly used especially in Singapore. In addition, flat slab structures are more susceptible to progressive collapse compared to two-way slab structures, as there are no beams contributed to assist in redistributing the load previously carried by the lost column. Therefore it is important to understand the significance of strengthening the existing flat slab structure against progressive collapse. One of the methods to strengthen the existing flat slab is by bonding with carbon fiber-reinforced polymer (FRP).
