description Item tracking and monitoring providing vital information during the storage or movement of products is essential to the businesses owners. A system which integrates item tracking and item monitoring is required and it should allow businesses to track and monitor their items with ease. This work is focused on the conceptual design, prototyping and testing of an integrated system that consist of the Microelectromechanical System (MEMs) Sensor and Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) to enable item monitoring. Integration of MEMs is compared with the integration of other types of sensors to determine the viability of MEMs integration. ID modulation is used with RFID technology to transmit status of the prototype wirelessly.
