description Echo is one of the common problems that happen during long-distance telecommunications. The occurrence of echo is due to the speech transmitted may be caught by the microphone and being transmitted back. These echoes in long-distance seriously reduces the quality of the telecommunications and annoy the users. This project seeks to research on the ways of reduce or eliminate the echoes. There were various ways of eliminating echoes in the echo cancellation history in using different techniques. In this project, two algorithms are developed and tested based on the theory of system estimation, named as least mean square algorithm and normalized least mean square algorithm. The derivation process, results and simulations has been introduced in this article. Under different input and parameters, the result may vary. Comparison have been made between two algorithms, hence proves that under ideal circumstances, NLMS has the better performance over LMS algorithm.
