description As the elderly population in Singapore continues to increase over the years, the demand for quality healthcare is expected rise which sees a continual mis-match in supply and demand for healthcare services. As such, the problem of long patient waiting time continued to plague healthcare sector, especially in the public sector. A review on the researches conducted in the past showed that most of the approaches towards alleviating the problem of long patient waiting time centered mainly on supply side. The author sees equivalent opportunities in reducing patient waiting time on the demand side and hence proposed to investigate how a demand side approach such as altering patient arrival can impact patient waiting time.
