description | Considered as one of the most important and popular manufacturing process for mass production of polymer products, injection molding process are vastly studied in the industry. Bringing the traditional injection molding into microscale increases the challenges face by engineers to constantly develop methodology for successful microinjection molding procedures.
In this project, studies on 2 types of thermoplastics polymers, namely Polymethyl Methacrylate (PMMA LG2) and Cyclic Olefin Polymer (COP) and understanding of the principles in micro injection molding procedures were done prior to performing of Design of Experiment (DOE) for the micro molding of a microfluidic device called “Micromixer”. The aim of the project is to investigate possible parameters for successful molding of micromixer through systematic experiment design. The DOE method by Taguchi was used in the project and a series of analysis were carried out for the samples data obtained from SEM analysis and Confocal analysis. |
